Wet Panel Carrier
This is the ultimate in simplicity: a wooden frame with a double rabbet to allow you to safely carry two wet panels of a given size. The panels are inserted face to face, and the frame provides 1/4" space between them. The paintings are secured with metal clips, and the carrier can then be tossed into your backpack along with your easel (you do have The Monarch Ultra-Portable Easel, don't you?). These wet panel carriers are available in a variety of standard sizes, all 3/4" deep. The weight varies by size, but the 11"x14" model shown below is only 0.4 lbs.
