Final Studio Touches
Some plein air
paintings require more finish work in the studio than others. On this one, I
hardly did anything besides sign it. I did work a little bit on the group of
trees on the far left side of the painting, refining the edges between the tree
and the space around it. A couple of the branches ended too abruptly, and some
of the foliage shapes against the sky looked a little unnatural. But I can
hardly tell from the pictures where I made changes. By the way, since this
picture was taken indoors under controlled lighting, it may appear I changed
colors across the painting, but that is just how the pictures came out. The
actual painting, truth be told, is a little lighter than this photo indicates.
