Starting Out
As is my custom, I began by doing a quick sketch - just a minute or two in this case - in my sketchbook to
establish the composition. The
sketch has just enough detail to show me the big shapes and their relative
values. I am not concerned with drawing individual objects; a mass of trees may
be a single shape, as they are here, if they are more or less the same value.
